This continues to be the richest custom even in today’s weddings. 1977 was the year of scientific discovery, research suggested that diamonds were made of carbon. Extending on the discoveries made, attempts were made to replicate the structure of the diamond under lab conditions. However, this resulted in a failure. But in 1879, Scotland recorded the first ever successful relocation of diamonds in Lab-Grown conditions. This was attributed to the commendable research of James Hannay. The famous De Beers company dates back to 1888, established by Cecil Rhodes. In the year 1931, the Gemological institute of America was founded, followed by the General Electric’s diamond synthesis project in the year 1941. After the historic launch of lab grown diamonds through HTHP method, the Chemical Vapour Disposition (CVD) method made its way into the market in the year 2003.
